Jeff Gilbert is a trial attorney. His practice is focused on representation of individuals facing problems in areas such as family law, criminal defense, civil litigation. He also has an active general and family law mediation practice.

Jeff was honored to serve two terms (1996 through 1998) as a special judge of the Harris County Criminal Courts at Law. He has been a Municipal Judge for the City of Brazoria County since 2012 and the city’s Presiding Judge since 2015.
A native of Brazoria County, Texas in Brazoria County, Jeff Gilbert is a sixth generation Texan with deep roots in his community. Jeff graduated from Baylor University in 1982 with a Bachelor of Business Administration and in 1984 with a Master of Business Administration. After a career in banking and corporate investments, Jeff attended the South Texas College of Law at the age of 27 where he participated in many intramural moot court and mock trial competitions. Jeff tried and won his first criminal jury trial while still in law school as an intern with the Harris County District Attorney's office before receiving his Doctor of Jurisprudence in December 1989.
Jeff then accepted a position in the Trial Bureau of the Harris County District Attorney's office in Houston, where he tried multiple jury and nonjury cases as a juvenile, misdemeanor, and felony prosecutor. Jeff eventually left the District Attorney's office to join a prestigious Houston-based civil litigation firm. Since that time, his practice has concentrated on litigation with firms in Houston, Brazoria County, and Dallas, Texas. In January 2006, Jeff opened Jeff Gilbert Law Office. He regularly represents individuals in Family and Criminal Court proceedings and often serves as an Amicus Attorney representing children in litigation between their parents.
